Among the vast wasteland of idiocy that exists on the Internet, occasional gems like this pop up. Whomever whipped this up had to have a solid understanding of history, the ability to explain what happened and a pretty good sense of humor – a relatively rare combination, unfortunately.
Well that explains everything even a non-drinker can understand. It’s like sitting at the dinner table telling your parents that your brother is looking at you, and won’t they please tell him to stop! 🙂 What’s up with looking, anyway? I know it used to make my blood boil! : Thanks for sharing, Cotton. Our CCSS conference this year commemorates the start of WWI. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. 🙂
Ah, yes, the old “he’s looking at me” rhubarb. I employed it many a time in my youth.
Sounds like your conference will be a fascinating one. Just think of all the great works of literature that use World War I as a backdrop: All Quiet on the Western Front, A Farewell to Arms, Goodbye to All That; Storm of Steel, to name just a few.
I had a very nice Thanksgiving and hope you did, as well.
We did. It was quiet. Vince’s sister came over, and we played cards after we stuffed ourselves nearly comatose. I’m still eating cake. Yikes! Back to the diet and exercise soon! 🙂
Makes it all understandable. A first.
I do what I can, sir.

Suddenly, finally I understand WWI. Jack
Brilliant! 😀
Puts it all in fascinating terms.

That is very clever! I’d like to know who it was that put it together.
Me, too. Clever, indeed.
That’s awesome. I want one for world war 2. Is there one?
This isn’t quite as witty, but it’s still a good read:

Puts the whole thing in perspective really
I just helped my oldest write an essay on the origins of WW1 – wish I had had this to hand
Yes, this would have saved me a whole lot of grief in high school, that’s for sure.
