Another day and another “fail” for the South Carolina media.
This time the culprit is The State newspaper and its coverage of a hydrogen-powered bus that will be used in the Columbia area over the next year.
The paper ran a short article on Wednesday detailing an announcement by city of Columbia and University of South Carolina officials introducing plans for hydrogen-powered Ford bus, which they hope will be used to transport handicapped students.
According to the version of the article found on The State’s website, the bus is a partnership between Ford, USC, Columbia and the federal Department of Energy.
If the deal is finalized, Ford will own the bus, USC will provide the driver and the insurance, Columbia will provide the fuel and the Department of Energy will help pay for the lease.
